The Mariutti Team, team of the iconic Brazilian bassist, Luis Mariutti, joins forces with Audio, renowned venue in São Paulo, to give a new dimension to the already classic Festa da Firma Mariutti Team through SHAMANGRA, a show that brings together members of different phases and formations of Shaman and Angra, celebrating the trajectory of the two bands that are part of Luis Mariutti’s successful career. The event takes place on January 14, 2024.

The term SHAMANGRA emerged from a joke among fans, who had long dreamed of the possibility of a joint tour by the two bands, and which became a reality through the Mariutti Team, which sought to unite new talents and great names that also made history in both bands, and present an unusual set list, with great hits from both bands intertwining and retelling the story from a new perspective.

Bassist Luis Mariutti, drummer Aquiles Priester, guitarist Hugo Mariutti, vocalist Thiago Bianchi and keyboardist Fabio Ribeiro will be part of the historical formation of this presentation. They are joined by the very talented musicians of the new generation, Hanna Paulino (Vocals) and Helena Nagagata (Guitar).

In addition to this grandiose show, the event will feature the launch show of Luis Mariutti’s first solo album, “Unholy”, where the musician presents a work of his own compositions, instrumental and sung, which aim to highlight the instrument that made him recognized as one of the best bass players in the world.

The Mariutti Team also selected great promises of National Metal to open the event, the bands FireWing, Vocifer and AuroControl

FireWing is armed with the talented Caio Kehyayan and Jota Fortinho, and they present their universe with a lot of technique: “We at FireWing are very excited for this great event for the Mariutti Team. Vocifer is a band from Tocantins, which opened a universe of legends and myths from the northern region of Brazil. The debutants of AuroControl come directly from the land of axé to show that Metal lives in the veins of Salvadorans, and present their first studio work: “Thanks, Mariutti Team! A Vocifer é uma banda do Tocantins, que abriu um universo de lendas e mitos da região norte do Brasil. “Last Gasp” is the second single featuring the band’s new vocalist, Jota Fortinho

Still rocked by the excellent repercussion it had with the announcement of its new vocalist and the new version for “Time Machine”, FireWing released an unpublished song already with the new lineup and made it available on all digital platforms with distribution by the German label, Massacre Records . The news came accompanied by the announcement of the tour that the band will do in Brazil with the Finnish band Sonata Arctica.

This song is a complete immersion in the first great war between the Eons and Vishap, with a sound unlike anything FireWing has ever set out to do.

The FireWing concept is based on the History and Mythology of Armenia and Greece, within a universe in which all other mythologies and distinct cultures are also included. In 1915, the Armenian people experienced a great genocide known as the “Armenian Massacre”, which left more than 1.5 million dead.

The being who personifies the determination of the Armenian people after this massacre is Vahagn – King of the great Armenia of the Orontida Dynasty (5th century AD). Vahagn is one of the sons of Tigranes Orontida and succeeded his father in the fight against dragons (Vishap), being known as Vishapakagn – “the Dragon Slayer”. Vahagn rid Armenia of monsters and was deified because of his valor, and FireWing extols these values throughout their song development.

This song is a complete immersion in the first great war between Eons and Vishap. With a sound unlike anything FireWing ever set out to do, Last Gasp is about the spiritual and mental journey of its protagonists “Vahagn” and his father “Tigranes”, the Elder.

Caio Kehyayan comments on the release: “My intention with this song is to send a strong message to the entire Armenian Diaspora. Since the genocide thousands of Armenians have fled to different corners of the world, and today there are more Armenians outside of Armenia than in the country itself, which is located in the Caucasus region”.

The band’s new vocalist, Jota Fortinho, added: “When Caio sent me the song, the first thing that came to mind was a ride on a roller coaster, one of those giant ones, lol. I could say many things about this topic, because, in addition to being very technical, it is quite profound. I can sum it up this way: Last Gasp is an extreme rollercoaster ride. I’m really proud of what we did on this song.”

Ainda embalados pela excelente repercussão que teve com o anúncio de seu novo vocalista e da nova versão para “Time Machine”, a FireWing lançou uma música inédita já com a nova formação e disponibilizou em todas as plataformas digitais com distribuição pela gravadora alemã, Massacre Records. As novidades vieram acompanhadas do anúncio da turnê que a banda fará pelo Brasil com os finlandeses do Sonata Arctica.

Esta música é uma imersão completa à primeira grande guerra entre os Eons e Vishap, com uma sonoridade diferente de tudo que a FireWing já se propôs a fazer.

O conceito da FireWing está embasado na História e na Mitologia da Armênia e da Gécia, dentro de um universo no qual todas as outras mitologias e culturas distintas também estão inclusas. Em 1915, o povo armênio passou por um grande genocídio conhecido como o “Massacre Armênio”, que deixou mais de 1,5 milhões de mortos.

O ser que personifica a garra do povo armênio após esse massacre é Vahagn – Rei da grande Armênia da Dinastia Orôntida (século V d.c). Vahagn é um dos filhos de Tigranes Orôntida e sucedeu o seu pai na luta contra dragões (Vishap), sendo conhecido como Vishapakagn – “o Matador de Dragões”. Vahagn livrou a Armênia dos monstros e foi deificado por causa do seu valor, e a FireWing exalta esses valores em todo o desenvolvimento das suas canções.

Essa música é uma imersão completa na primeira grande guerra entre Eons e Vishap. Com um som diferente de tudo que FireWing nunca se propôs a fazer, Last Gasp trata da jornada espiritual e mental de seus protagonistas “Vahagn” e seu pai “Tigranes”, o Ancião.

Caio Kehyayan comenta o lançamento: “Minha intenção com essa música é passar uma forte mensagem para toda a Diáspora Armênia. Desde o genocídio milhares de armênios fugiram para cantos distintos do mundo, e atualmente existem mais armênios fora da armênia do que no próprio pais, que se localiza na região do Cáucaso”.

O novo vocalista da banda, Jota Fortinho, acrescentou: “Quando o Caio me enviou a música, a primeira coisa que me veio à mente foi um passeio em uma montanha-russa, daquelas gigantes, rsrs. Eu poderia dizer muitas coisas sobre esse tema, pois, além de muito técnico ele é bastante profundo. Posso resumir desta maneira: Last Gasp é um passeio radical em montanha-russa. Estou muito orgulhoso do que fizemos nessa música”.

“Time Machine” brings new sounds, which make the listener have an incredible experience and an immersion in the concept of the song through its lyrics. The feeling of losing a love, reported in the song, is visceral.

“Singing a song that was originally sung by another singer is always a challenge. Because at the same time that you have to find the balance to respect the original theme, you have to find your space and put a little bit of yourself into it. This song, like so many others by FireWing, has a very strong emotional charge, so my challenge here was to create something that would emphasize the most diverse feelings and dynamics of this incredible song”, commented Jota Fortinho.

“Time Machine” is part of the concept album, “Resurrection” and its lyrics deal with the awakening of Vahagn, receptacle of Ember’s ancestral powers, who, moved by the anguish of losing the love of his life in a dark ritual performed by Vishap, seeks to transmute your soul through meditation to access the portal of the past and find and rebuild your old reality.

For this, Vahagn needs to prove that his soul is worthy of binding itself to Ember. However, even though they manage to find their beloved in the spiritual plane, the two realize that there will be no chance of reversing reality, and so they need to follow a greater purpose, and their bond of eternal love is all that remains. In the end, Vahagn must be as brave as his father, Tigranes, and continue his destiny as an eternal warrior.

“Time Machine is a watershed song in my career as a songwriter and music producer! The production of this song opened up a new range of possibilities on how to explore the Conceptual Universe that is FireWing. The near future will bring even greater immersion. In the next chapters, the adventures of our protagonist Vahagn will be immortalized in the new compositions”,, highlighted Caio Kehyayan.
